Referred to as the "Monte project" this has been born of our passion for the dark, rich, brooding wines found in Italy's Abruzzo region. The opportunity to source a parcel of low yield, handpicked fruit from a grower with an ideal vineyard aspect in Langhorne Creek has seen this project come to fruition, resulting in an exclusively hand-crafted wine for the Biggs and Wren cellar. Delivering a deep inky wine, rich in primary plum and blackberry fruits, dark chocolate and a firm tannin finish which reveals hints of earthy spice and tobacco.
